Glycerin- Hydrates, prevents acne, reduces poor size, cools irritation, protects skin barrier, anti-aging (stabilize collagen)

Butylene Glycol- A humectant (hydration), a preservative (antimicrobial), a solvent (prevents clumping), improve texture, stability (prevents active ingredients from drying out or losing their aroma), viscosity (making product easier to apply). Safe for everyday use, often used as a replacement for propylene glycol.

Carbomer- Acrylic acid polymers that are used for a variety of purposes: texture (making product easier to apply), emulsifier (prevent product from separating), stability (increases shelf life), skin elasticity (retains active ingredients), thickening, spreadability, reduces microbial contamination.

Polysorbate 20- A nonionic surfactant (helps dirt and oil to be washed away) and emulsifier (helps blend product), non-comedogenic.

Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1- A synthetic fatty acid linked peptide that can help repair visible skin damage and strengthen skin’s underlying supportive elements. A peptide that has similar anti-aging benefits to retinol.

Palmitoyl Terapeptide-7- A synthetic peptide used to improve the appearance of the skin. A signaling peptide that acts like a cellular signal to tell the skin to repair itself. Made-up of four amino acids (glutamine, glycine, arginine, proline) and palmitic acid. Often used in anti-aging products. Stimulates collagen production, firms and tones skin, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory.

Vitamin C- Reduces hyperpigmentation, reduces wrinkles (in 12 weeks of usage), protects against sun damage, improves skin tone, brightens complexion, soothes inflammation, boosts collagen production, fights free radicals (Use SPF with vitamin C).

Benzoic Acid- A preservative to prevent growth of harmful microorganisms and to extend the shelf life of a product. Also, anti-aging, moisturizing, soothing, anti-inflammatory.

Potassium Sorbate- A preservative, non-irritant.

Sodium Hyaluronate- A type of HA (hyaluronic acid). A naturally occurring substance found in the human body, skin, eyes, joints. Attracts and retains large amounts of water keeping skin hydrated.

Benzoic Acid- A preservative and pH adjuster. Helps prevent growth of fungi and bacterial (antimicrobial), can soothe, moisturize and reinforce skins barrier function.

Dehydroacetic Acid (DHA)- AKA Geogard IIIA. A preservative used to prevent bacteria and fungi from growing. Longer shelf life.

For all skin types, cruelty free and vegan.

Sclerotium Gum- Derived from fermentation of fungus sclerotium rolfsii. Used for skin conditioning, thickening and stabilizing, emulsion stabilizer, viscosity regulator, suspending agent.

Ethylhexylglycerin- A synthetic ingredient derived from plant sources like soy or palm. Well tolerated. Skin softening, hydration, preservative, antimicrobial, emollient, surfactant.

Botanical Hyaluronic Acid (HA)- A polysaccharide sugar molecule. Consists of HA (hyaluronic acid), lipids and sugars. Ability to bind with water- increase depth hydration, improving elasticity and firmness, skin replenishing and softening, anti-aging ingredient.

Capryl Hydroxamic Acid- A synthetic chelating agent and preservative. Amino acid derived from coconut oil. Safe for daily use. Moisturizing benefits.

BTMS 50 (Behentrimonium Methosulfate)- derived from the natural plant oil colza. A conditioning agent and emulsifier, hydrates and moisturizes, softens and smooths.

DL-Panthenol [vitamin B5]- hydrates, soothing, improves texture and elasticity, improves barrier strength, reduces facial redness.

Optiphen- A preservative to protect against bacteria, yeast, mold growth. Contains phenoxyethanol, caprylyl glycol and sorbic acid. Works well in low-water content products. Best to use in formulations with a pH below 6. Can be hot or cold processed, but heated phase shouldn’t exceed 80c (176f).

Stearic Acid- a fatty acid used in soap, cleansers, lotions, cosmetics. Generally considered safe and effective for all skin types. Used as a thickener to make the product feel more like butters. Functions as an emollient, emulsifier, cleansing and texture enhancing, moisturizing, reduces inflammation, treats eczema, cleansing, reduces acne, promotes cell turnover, helps decrease the signs of aging.

Soya Oil (Soybean Oil)- Great for dry and combination skin and sensitive skin. Rich in Vitamin E, it is moisturizing, anti-aging, gentle, reduces redness, protects against inflammation, carrier oil.

Cetyl Alcohol- Functions as an emulsion stabilizer, opacifier, emollient & surfactant in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry. It is a fatty alcohol used as a thickener without the weight and tack of waxes. Non-drying or irritating. Has a long shelf life of 2 years. Offers silkiness to lotions and conditioners. Benefits: moisturizing, softening, non-comedogenic, emulsifier, thickening, surfactant, nutrient supplier, protects from bacteria and allergens.

Emulsifying Wax- emulsifier (helps bind ingredients together), thickener, stabilizer, moisturizer, reduces inflammation, protects skin, smooth texture.

Vegetable Glycerin- AKA glycerol. Derived from oils of plants: coconut, palm or soy. Locks in moisture; softening, smoothing, soothing complexion. Gentle enough to be used on sensitive skin and baby skin care. Many benefits: moisturizing, anti-aging, protects skin, reduces acne, improves skin elasticity, brightens, promotes wound healing.

Palmitic Acid- a fatty acid. Also, a component of beeswax. Used as a cleansing agent and emollient (softens and moisturizes skin). Can promote smooth skin. Moisturizing, antioxidant, cleansing, stabilizing, enhances absorption.

Potassium Sorbate- The potassium salt of sorbic acid. A preservative- prevents bacteria, mold, yeast (antibacterial and antifungal properties).

Germall Plus- Broad spectrum preservative against gram-positive & gram-negative bacteria, yeast and mold. Good choice for water-based products. Effective in small amounts and has a broad pH range. (less heat tolerant than opiphen)
